Hijacked by God: How a Sleepless Morning Led Me Straight to Church πππ½
Sometimes God doesn’t tap you on the shoulder… He full
on hijacks your whole morning and sends you exactly where you need to be. Today was one of those days.
Never in my life did I think God would hijack me into going to church π. But let me tell you how this Sunday morning went down. I woke up around 6am and, for reasons only heaven knows, I could not go back to sleep. I worked on my blog for about an hour, did some reading usually enough to send me into a peaceful nap but today my mind was on its own wild adventure.
My eyes were begging for rest, but my mind said, “Nope. Let’s think about everything except sleeping.” You know those mornings? Yeah… one of those. By 9am, I checked my phone and let out this dramatic groan-cry (if that even makes sense ππ). A few seconds later my daughter looked at me and asked, “Mummy, are you okay?” The way she asked instantly made me giggle. I told her, “Yes, my love… I’m just battling whether or not to go to church.” So I asked her, “Would you like to go to church?” And without hesitation she said yes happily, and with far more confidence than I had at that moment. Somehow her little “yes” hit me like a spiritual energy drink. It felt like God whispered, “Get your behind up.” Next thing I knew, I was in the bathroom getting myself ready slowly, quietly, and without even thinking about it. Then it suddenly hit me “Hold on… why do I feel like I’m being hijacked into going to church?” π€π But I just rolled with it.
And would you believe it? For the first time in history, BOTH of us were ready on time. We got to church early, which honestly felt like its own little miracle. Service was beautiful. The preaching was powerful. And the sermon? David and Goliath. A classic story every Christian knows but somehow it always carries a fresh message, a new strength, a gentle reminder that giants fall, victories come, and God is consistent. I left feeling lighter. Encouraged. Grateful. Sometimes God has to interrupt your whole morning just to realign you. And honestly? I’m glad He did, not mad about it.
Glory be to God in the highest. ππ½✨
